無双 @ 佐敦 - Ramen Battle Round Two

上一次介紹了超男 Bario, 今次就介紹來自東京的無双.

第一次吃當然是試試他們的招牌款式, 就是什麼都有的無双特製拉麵


無双特製拉麵 - 賣相相當不錯. 湯底以雞和豚骨混合熬製而成, 做出來的湯底跟超男有點相似, 都是比較油膩, 但是無双的湯底質感沒有超男那樣濃厚, 喝起來頗為清甜, 整體感覺OK. 如果你加入無双的自製蒜蓉, 蒜味道就會加重了很多, 湯底的雞和豚骨味就會突出非常.

無双和超男一樣, 麵頂有一大堆芽菜, 可以清一清湯底的油膩感, 很不錯的組合.


無双特製拉麵 / Muso Signature Ramen
雖然麵條用上圓身曲麵, 口感韌韌QQ且彈力, 但吸湯的能力不是很好, 感覺一般.

日式叉燒
温泉蛋細了一點. 但蛋黃流心度理想, 蛋白柔軟有醬油味, 入口香甜蛋味濃郁, 整體算是不錯. 放在碗旁邊的叉燒有點乾和比較瘦, 但吃起來肉味頗香, 肉質也很鬆化帶點甘味. 吃完三片不油膩, 做得頗好. 

另外還有日式餃子, 一客五隻, 口感一般, 跟你在超級市場可以買到的急凍餃子差不多, 所以整體感覺一般.

拉麵的湯底和叉燒有水準, 整體質素平均, 但餃子遜色一點, 可惜!

Muso @ Jordan - Ramen Battle Round Two



Muso
Round two is to try the ramen in Muso in the Jordan Ramen Champion (link). Again, I ordered the signature one which called Muso Signature Ramen and it had 3 pieces of Japanese Style BBQ pork, half-boiled eggs, many bean sprouts with the noodle.

First of all, the soup base in Muso was a mix of chicken and pork and the taste was not as rich as the one in Bario. However, the soup bases in that two restaurants were kind of oily. So if you don't know this kind of soup base, please don't try Bario and Muso then. But if you like the oily soup base, please don't miss the Muso home-made garlic. You can put some of it to the soup base and taste how the garlic changes the taste. You may feel a "Wow" from it.

Secondly, the ramen was OK and "al dente". But it could not "absorb" the soup base which turned to be a weakness.

The Japanese style BBQ pork was soft and tender. I believed the chef used a lot of time to cook it. So I had to give it a "thumbs up". 

Finally, the Japanese style dumplings were just "so-so". The taste was like what you can find in supermarket. So I believe I won't order it next time. How about you? Will you try the dumplings?

Conclusion: It's OK, not too good but not that bad

超男 @ 佐敦 - Ramen Battle Round One

Sorry, 各位! 之前本人公事太忙, 沒有時間update個blog, 真的對不起!

好! 今次讓我介紹 Ramen Champion (link) 的 超男拉麵. 是夜在超男拉麵order了豬骨濃湯拉麵. Order完後就會有一個Call機, 當我的拉麵煮好後, 個Call機就會一响, 然後就可以去櫃面拿拉麵.

超男Call機 

豬骨濃湯拉麵 - 骨湯油份未夠膩,喝下去後感覺頗為香濃滑溜. 叉燒肉比較瘦, 質感一般。拉麵較為扁而帶曲線,咬下去時有嚼勁,同時也能索得盡湯汁. 口感不錯!

Bario @ Jordan - Ramen Battle Round One

Do you like Japanese ramen? Do you know right now this kind of noodle is so popular in Hong Kong? So, let me introduce Bario Japanese Ramen Restaurant to you.



Actually Bario is one of the Japanese Ramen Restaurants inside a food count called Ramen Champion (linkin Jordan. Besides this restaurant, the others are Muso, Tokyo Ninja, Hokkaido Bishamon Zero,  Ikkousha and Jyoshoken which I will introduce them to you one by one later in my blog.

So this time I ordered the signature ramen - Bario Ramen in there which it came with 3 pieces of Japanese style BBQ pock, an half-boil egg and the noodle. First of all, the soup base was a little bit oily but it was acceptable and tasty. The pieces of BBQ pock was not that fat, so they were just OK. However the noodle (or ramen) was so "al dente", good!

Other than that, let me tell you this: the waiter will give u a electric device after you have ordered the food. Once your food is ready, the electric device will beep and then you can go to get the food. Sound funny? Yes, why don't you go to there and have a try!

Conclusion: Good to go for a try

明洞 Express @ 尖沙咀 - 快平靚正之韓風

Lunch 找東西食, 講下講下講到食韓國嘢, 就二話不說飛的去尖沙咀明洞 Express食個快平靚正的Lunch.

我本人喜歡韓國有辛辣又有甜味的食物, 所以叫左辛辣泡菜年糕炒拉麵. 出去點完餐後就會拿到一個 BiBi Call 機, 等架機一響就去攞東西吃!

攞到返黎聞到D辛辣味就差D連口水都流出黎. 先講前菜. 泡菜比較酸不算辣, 薯仔香辣超開胃. 個湯好飮, 胡椒味夠重, 多蔬菜夠, 然後我就喝光!

前菜: 泡菜 & 薯仔

然後到果辣炒辛辣麵年糕, 辣得平均, 沒有感到半點死辣, 而且辣中有甜, 好惹味! 年糕有咬口, 再吸左D辣汁, 很好食!

Myeongdong Express Korean Fast Food @ Tsim Sha Tsui

You may have tried the Hong Kong style fast food in Hong Kong, but how about the Korean fast food? Now, let me share a good Korean fast food shop in Tsim Sha Tsui to you. That shop is called Myeongdong Express and one of my favor dish in there is called "Stir Fried Rice Cake with Kimchi and Ramen (aka: Tteokbokki)".

So for the source, it is not just spicy but it also has a sweet taste in it. So you may say the taste is funny which I agree but honestly it tastes very good. Besides, the rice cake is so tender and it absorbs the sweet and spicy source which you will feel very exciting when you are having them.

Besides, the side dish - Kimchi, also a good one. It is not very very spicy, so just try it and you will love it!

Next time if you stop by Tsim Sha Tsui, go there for a quick lunch or dinner as to feel what kind of Korean fast food it is!

介紹多一間麵包店給大家, 依間叫西貢咖啡餅店. 我想其實依間麵包店都己經很有名, 有人說這麵包店的大大個的菠蘿包很好食, 也有人說平平無奇點都好, 只要是本人覺得好的, 就會在這裏推一推給大家.

Sai Kung Cafe & Bakery @ Sai Kung 

Let me introduce one more Bakery shop in Sai Kung to you. It is called Sai Kung Café & Bakery and actually it is quite famous in Sai Kung Downtown already. Some people like the cake and bread in there while some other said the pastry in there does not taste good. So, whatever…as long as I think the food is good, I will tell you in my blog honestly.

So I like the bread (or cake) called Chocolate Cake-Bread and from the photo, you can see it is a mix of chocolate cake and white bread together. Look weird and sound bizarre, right? But after you have a bite, you can feel the taste is so good as the taste of chocolate is so rich while the white bread is full of the taste of butter.

Just stop by this shop and buy the Cake-Bread for a try, then you will have the tendency to buy it again next time.

上回寫了一篇某大飲食集團在銅鑼灣 Shopping mall開的麵包店 (link), 主要是想講那間店的牛角包和衍生出來的問題.  既然講開牛角包, 就等小弟介紹下一間位於西貢的麵包店 - 磨菇麵包店 Mushroom Bakery.

每次入新西貢都會走去磨菇麵包店買D麵包返屋企慢慢食. 昨天去西貢食完果Lunch再去橋咀島玩完後, 就走左去磨菇麵包店買牛角包. 原本想買原味點知賣完, 好在仲有袋朱古力, 如果唔係就真係白行一趟.

磨菇麵包店的牛角包, 表面看似無特別, 但其實牛油的香味全都在麵包裏, 而且牛油的份量也很適中, 不會過多而令你我覺得好似食舊牛油咁. 此外, $12 就有2個咁好食的麵包, 眞係去邊度揾?

Mushroom Bakery @ Sai Kung


Referred to my previous article which talked about the croissant from Urban Bakery in Causeway Bay, let me continue this topic and introduce one of the best bakery shops in Hong Kong to you.


So, that bakery shop is located in Sai Kung and is called Mushroom Bakery. I like their croissant as the bread is so soft and the butter favor is so rich. What I said "rich" means the pastry chef  mixed the butter and flour at the right potion and when you are having a bite, you won't feel you are eating "a big trunk of butter" but rather than a soft and sexy croissant.    



$12 for 2 pcs. Cheap & good taste. What else!?

If you don't trust me, why don't you goto that Bakery shop and buy some for a try. By the way, other types of bread and cake in there are also good. So don't miss it and let me know your comment after you have tasted any of them.

今天是本人第一次逛銅鑼灣希慎廣場的Jasons . Food & Living, 見到條長長人龍排隊等 Urban bakery 新鲜出爐的牛角包, 原本想轉身就走, 但因久聞此bakery的大名, 而且身邊朋友毎個都話好味, 好奇的我就去排隊, 想買番果試下.

排左20分鐘終於排到我, 有理冇理都買個原味同杏仁牛角包, price tag上有”AOC”的法國認證, 有此title的故然是保證但我想..將此放在香港就好像是一位出身名門的人在銀光燈下被人利用作marketing似的. 哀乎  !? 難道其他麵包店出爐的牛角包, 沒有”AOC”就等於沒有保證? 唔好味?

無疑原味牛角包的牛油很香, 又有外脆內軟的酥皮, 很香口.  另一款的杏仁牛角包包面有很多的杏仁和砂糖, 每口了牛油香外又有甜味, 的確很誘人不過, 其實在歐洲 (或在香港) 牛角包是很普通的食物,歐洲人每天都有會買來吃的早餐 (在香港也有此機會買來作早餐), 街角的麵包師傳(歐洲和香港)都很會做到很好味,  咁點解這普通平民化又好食的食物, 落在Urban bakery 手上,為何會這麼好賣而要又賣到$12 - $ 13一個(街角的麵包店可能只需$6- $ 7一個, 味道可能一樣好味)? 是因為有”AOC”? 有大財團back up就一定有水準? marketing & promotion? 有羊群效應? 有人云亦云?

我問我自己, 如果以上的提問中只要有一個答案是Yes, 那我想我的味蕾跟腦神經應該给市場化了哀乎  !?

May 4 - Will you wait for 20 minutes as to buy a Croissant?

Yes, will you wait for 20 minutes as to buy a croissant in the Urban bakery of Jasons Supermarket in Hysan Shopping Mall, Causeway Bay? Well, I just did it on yesterday. 

So was it taste good? Yes, it tasted good but it is not worth to wait so long for it? Actually, the bread was so common in the World and I bet you will buy it for your breakfast in the weekday. Then why we need to wait for it? Furthermore, the price tag of that croissant is around HK$ 12 each. So is it worth to buy it? For me, it’s a “Yes and No”. “Yes” as it’s worth as it tastes good; “No” as I didn’t want to line up so long and indirectly helped the shop for promotion.

Although the croissant has “AOC” (Concours du Meilleur Croissant au Beurre AOC Charantes-Poitou a.k.a The Best Butter Croissant Competition), is it really worth that price and wait for that long? It is your call.

85℃ @ 太子 - 咸的85?

路經太子荔枝角道見到85, 想吃台灣食物的心癮又走出來, 所以二話不說的走入去買有杯海岩綠茶.

之前在台北或香港飲海岩綠茶時, 都會感受到一種層次感, 先是有咸味,  然後有茶味, 最後就是甘香味, 但不知為何, 今次這杯就少了咸味, 中間都依然有茶味, 再飮到底時就只有甜味, 沒甘香味.

也許只是有一丁點失手, 才出現這情况. 希望下次再買海岩綠茶時, 水準可以有之前的好!

Sea Salt Green Tea @ 85, Prince Edward

Have you even think of putting some sea salt in green tea? Actually this kind of drink was first being popular in Taiwan and then the shop (85) bought it to Hong Kong last year as to develop new market. The taste of this drink is very good and when you take first couple sips, you can taste the sea salt. And when you drink again and again, you can taste the green tea in the middle. So, are you interested to have a sip of Sea Salt Green Tea.

Although, this green tea tastes good, this time my cup was not that good. Unluckily I could not taste the sea salt in my first couple sips and I thought my drink was too sweet, too!
Anyway, I am willing to give them benefit of doubt and sure I will buy the Sea Salt Green Tea in 85 again as to see they have improved the quality or not.

禮拜日無嘢做, 就出尖沙咀行吓街, 行到 K-11 Holly Brown , 被店裏面的香濃咖啡味吸引住, 走入去 order Holly Brown Tango (咖啡 + Gelato) Rock on Vanilla (Gelato).

Holly Brown Tango Espresso好香好濃, 再配上雲尼拿Gelato, 成杯咖啡立即滑上加滑, 而且咖啡是熱的, 雲尼拿Gelato是凍的, 一凍一熱, 冰火”! !

再黎就係Rock on Vanilla Gelato, 材料有花生醬, 杏仁, 朱古力brownie 再炒雲尼拿Gelato 因為Gelato是零空氣的低脂雪糕, 所以口感香滑實淨, 甜甜黏黏.

Let’s TANGO with Coffee and Gelato @ K-11 Mall, TST  

What’s good to have a cup of coffee and gelato at Sunday afternoon? Today I passed by K-11 shopping mall in TST and got attracted by the smell of coffee from Holly Brown cafe. So I decided to buy a cup of TANGO and a scoop of Rock on Vanilla in there as to chill out.
First of all, TANGO is the Espresso mixed with vanilla gelato. The Espresso was so rich and when it mixed with vanilla gelato, the texture became so soft and smooth! Although coffee and gelato are two different things, but when they combine together, it just becomes a perfect match!

Then the Rock on Vanilla was the vanilla gelato came with peanut butter, almond and chocolate brownie. No doubt, the gelato was so good. When you eat it, you can feel different tastes in your mouth.  It is hard to find this kind of gelato in Italy and I guess this kind of innovative combination can only be found in Hong Kong. So, you should go there and have a try when you are in Hong Kong. 

Holly Brown café (link) has couple branches in Hong Kong, and there should be one in the busy commence and shopping areas. So, don’t miss it!

在蘇黎世試了很美味的瑞士餐, thanks so much for Michelle & her family! the food is so tasty!

有raclette, 又有 truffle ravioli, 再有黑毛豬 Parma ham, 最後再加 home made dessert 同一杯牛奶汽水, 由 7pm 食到 12pm...真的不得了!

這天用了大半天遊覧梵諦崗同西班牙廣場, 其實都已經攰到無胃口食飯, 但係又不想錯過羅馬的美食, 最終在 Barberini Metro 站憑直覺走入一間名謂 Enoteca Barberini Ristorante (link) 的餐廳吃晚餐.

首先先order左支Acqua, 沒有什麽特別, 不是很大支但都要$4 EUR, Thanks!


然後再order一碟牛油果沙律 Insalata Avocado, 材料新鮮, 有好多芝士, 粟米粒同牛油果, 正!

跟住上枱的係 Tonnarelli cacio e pepe Pasta, 這款pasta的材料很簡單, 只有芝士 (Tonnarelli Cheess), 胡椒粉同意粉, 但出奇地當這三種配料加起一齊, 果種香味會係口同舌度好有層次的走出來. 但可惜在香港不是很容易找到這款pasta, what a pity! 如果你有機會到羅馬, 記緊要試下!

After visiting Vatican and Piazza di Spagna, I was already very tired and no appetite to eat anything. However, I would feel guilty if I could not try the delicious food in Rome, and so, without  any serious planning and thinking, me and my wife just picked a restaurant called Enoteca Barberini Ristorante (link) around Barberini Metro Station and had our dinner.

As usual, we ordered a bottle of water and as it is nothing special, I just skip it.

Then we ordered Insalata Avocado salad and it was full of cheese, corn, avocado and other vegetable. The avocado and vegetable were so fresh and sweet. So, if you go to there for lunch / dinner, it is worth to order this salad or other salad for a try!

After we finished the salad, I ordered Tonnarelli cacio e pepe for a try. Actually, the ingredients of this pasta were very simple, it only had Tonnarelli Cheess, Pepper and, of coarse the pasta. But after all of them cooked together, it became a very delicious dish. When I ate it, my tongue could taste the pepper, then the cheese and finally the mixture of pepper and cheese with the al dente pasta. So luckily I could have this pasta in Roma as it is hard to find this kind of pasta in Hong Kong. If you travel to Roma next time, please don't forget to try the Tonnarelli cacio e pepe.
